Dance team adds a lot to Penn State sports
In response to the opinion concerning the Penn State Dance Team, I would first like to say that the writer is not only unaware, but also recklessly sharing his uninformed opinion with the students who were unfortunate enough to read his letter to the editor. The dance team was added to the arena of sporting events years ago. As a fan, I can attest to their hard work, dedication and utmost dignity. Shameful display? What shame is there in being a member of a highly competitive team of extremely talented girls who not only add to the cheerleaders and band, but are just as much a part of the Penn State tradition as any other team or organization? With much respect to the band and cheerleaders, the dance team does nothing but add to their performance at sporting events and works together with them as a team. Their routines only silence the crowd because they are unique, sophisticated, and sharp. It's quite obvious that his knowledge of dance must be quite infinitesimal for him to refer to their performances as silly routines. Any dancer would recognize the level of difficulty the dance team portrays. Amy F. McLaughlin
