Women's soccer to hold clinic for young players

For the third-straight year, the Penn State women's soccer team will host the Kicks Against Breast Cancer Clinic on Saturday, February 16. The clinic is for female soccer players grades 1-12. Mothers are also encouraged to attend. The Nittany Lion women's soccer staff, including co-Big Ten Coach of the Year Paula Wilkins, and players from the NCAA Tournament team will be on hand to instruct those participating.

The cost of the clinic is a $25 registration fee. Only the first 100 players will be accepted. The money collected for registration will be donated to the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource and Image Center. Free soccer skill instructional sessions will be provided for mothers and a Mother-Daughter game will be held at the end of each session.

Two sessions will be held on Saturday. A session from 8-11 a.m. is for children in grades 1-6, and the 2-5 p.m. session is for kids in grades 7-12. All sessions are held at Holuba Hall on the campus of Penn State University.

For more information and registration forms, please contact the Penn State Sports Camp office at 914-865-0561. The clinic staff asks that players arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of a session to register.

The Penn State women's soccer team made its seventh-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and advanced to the quarterfinals, finishing the season with a 21-4-1 records. The Nittany Lions also won their fourth-straight Big Ten title and third Big Ten Tournament title in four years.
