After a six game losing streak in which the same problems continually led to defeat, the Penn State men's basketball team turned the tables last night, out-rebounding Purdue 35-24 and shooting 56.3 percent from the field en route to an 81-68 win over the Boilermakers (11-13, 3-7 Big Ten).

ARTS

Until last November, the office windows of 401 Old Main had a magnificent view -- of a yellow brick wall.

The musical ideas on Your Majesty are fascinatingly complex. The influences are apparent but extremely tasteful and carefully selected. The structure of each section of every song was obviously intensely calculated.

I have a confession to make. As a kid, I never read a fantasy book. I swore by The Baby-sitter's Club series, so anything else was just uncool. This may explain why in my old age I've blossomed into a fantasy addict.

Chip Kidd is a graphic designer, not a writer. This is made clear the moment one sees his first novel, The Cheese Monkeys: A Novel in Two Semesters.

The tag line for the movie Slackers is "higher education just hit a new low." I would revise this statement to "filmmaking just hit a new low."

For some reason, the word "Forever" is common for musicians to use for album or song titles. But only when the band is taking its last gasping breath at stardom or the possibility of actual sales.
