Penn State seniors Emily Oleksiuk and Bonnie Young were picked to play in the Umbro Select College All-Star Classic, which will be played Saturday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. General managers and coaches from the Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) will be on hand looking at players, and the league's draft will be held Monday.
Also eligible for the draft is Nittany Lion senior Luanne Strom.
Oleksiuk leaves Penn State as the NCAA's all-time leader in goalkeeper minutes played (8,853). The three-time NSCAA All-American was a first team All-Big Ten selection all four years. She holds school records for saves, shutouts, fewest goals allowed and goals-against average. She will play on the East team.
Young owns the school record for games played at 104, which is second in NCAA history. She helped anchor a defense that ranked 29th in the nation in scoring defense in 2001. She ranks fifth in career goals, fourth in points, fifth in assists, and fifth in game-winning goals.
The two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection will play for the West team.
A two-time captain, Strom started all but one of the 97 games she played in during her four years at Penn State. She is one of 37 additional players invited to the WUSA combine.
The second annual WUSA player draft of top college and amateur players will take place at the Sunrise Hilton in Sunrise, Fla.
