Alleged Ecstasy ring trial postponed

The pretrial hearings for four men allegedly involved with a local Ecstasy, cocaine and marijuana drug ring did not take place yesterday at their attorneys' requests.

The hearings were continued for Alan Trub, 24, and Jacob Rosen, 23, both suspected of receiving deliveries of Ecstasy and cocaine at fraternity addresses. These hearings will be at a later date.

Brian Wittig, 23, and David Caris, 24, waived their rights to preliminary hearings.

All four men were charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy in connection with their suspected involvement with a drug ring that circulated an estimated $2 million of Ecstasy and 56 ounces of cocaine locally.

Wittig and Caris were also charged with the delivery of a controlled substance -- Wittig for alleged sales of Ecstasy and marijuana and Caris for the suspected sale of Ecstasy.
