Highlight
The front that brought rain to State College yesterday bestowed the Midwest with severe winter weather. Up to three inches of ice formed on power lines, roads, and sidewalks from Oklahoma to northern Indiana, knocking out power and causing numerous traffic accidents. This treacherous storm claimed fifteen lives and injured many others as it dumped freezing rain and snow over the northern plains and Great Lakes.
