Former Penn State football standouts Kim Herring and Tyoka Jackson will be on the field during Super Bowl XXXVI, making it the 32nd time in Super Bowl history a Penn State alumus has played for the NFL title.
Herring is a starting safety for the NFC Champion St. Louis Rams. A first-team All-American for Penn State in 1996, Herring was also a member of Baltimore's Super Bowl-winning team a year ago.
Jackson, a defensive tackle for the Rams, will play in his first Super Bowl in the seventh year of his pro career.
Twenty-five former Lions have earned a total of 41 Super Bowl rings.
