Students can now apply to live in the new West Campus Graduate Housing facilities, which will be open for the Fall 2002 Semester. Applications are available in 101 Shields Building. The housing contracts require a $100 deposit.
Rates for next year's housing have not yet been determined, but they are estimated at $2,025 to $2,250 per student per semester for single apartments. Family rental rates are estimated at $600 to $900 per month.
The Penn State Board of Trustees will determine final rates in March.
The new housing will have 75 four-bedroom apartments for unmarried students, each with full kitchens and laundries.
On-site parking and a community center are planned. Construction on one, two and three-bedroom family apartments may be completed ahead of schedule, allowing some families to move in earlier than the advertised time of Spring Semester 2003.
There is no set deadline for the applications, but space is limited. Graduate students who currently live on or off campus as well as incoming graduate students are able to apply.
Site plans and other information about the complex are online at www.hfs.psu.edu/WestCampus.
