All fraternities' names soiled by actions of few

I must say that after reading the article referring to a PSU grad charged with drug trafficking I was utterly outraged. As an active member in the one of the organizations pointed out as having an involved suspect, I can not believe the unprofessional conduct displayed by The Daily Collegian. Why you find it necessary to give the names of fraternity organizations during the pivotal period of our Spring Rush process is beyond my comprehension. These accusations have been placed on individuals and not the entire fraternity.

My fraternity as well as many others have worked hard to be active members in the community and have raised an exorbitant amount of money for children with cancer through dance marathon. These are only a small sample of the activities we engage in as whole organizations.

It seems that this university is fed up with greek life. Since I have been at Penn State, I can not ignore that the university has been pushing down the greek system. I have seen two houses thrown off campus, one that had been the top contributor to dance marathon. I have also seen the elimination of socials, and now the unnecessary public defamation of five fraternities. Nothing illegal was printed but it still may have hurt our organizations. Organizations that work hard to be good members in the community.

I am sorry to the other houses that were singled out in this disgusting manner and I hope everything goes well. I also hope that the university can start to see the greek system as an asset to the school and not just as a bunch of drug-trafficking, beer-chugging, and trouble-making organizations.
