The Penn State Board of Trustees re-elected Edward Hintz to his position as president of the board during its regular meeting Friday. Cynthia Baldwin also was re-elected to her position as vice president. All associate secretaries and other officers of the board will retain their positions.
In other business, the board granted Penn State the right to confer degrees on students who have completed the proper requirements, a yearly formality.
It also passed a resolution honoring the Eberly family. Robert and Elouise Eberly and their family are Penn State's most generous living benefactors, having donated a total of $39 million to the university.
Parts of Friday's meeting were videotaped for the Eberlys, "as a way for us to thank the Eberlys for their selfless volunteer service and many gifts over the years," Penn State President Graham Spanier said.
The board will meet again in March.
