WTC firefighter statue overly politically correct

I don't know if its made the news way out here, but the statue in memory of the firefighters lost at the Trade Center, has been altered to make one firefighter black, one white and one latino, from the original depiction of the three firefighters Dan McWilliams, George Johnson and Billy Eisengrein.

While the department's desire for racial equality is commendable, why are we sacrificing history for political correctness? Should we replace the Iwo Jima Statue with a more racially diverse one too? How about adding in some people to the painting of the Last Supper? This just is another example of how political correctness has gotten way out of control.
