Ice Lions can't get win in two overtime games

The Penn State Ice Lions and the Kentucky Cool Cats battled into overtime twice during the weekend in ACHA Div. II ice hockey action. Penn State could not secure a victory, however, as they departed Lexington on Sunday with a tie and a loss.

In game one, Ice Lion forward J.T. D'Alessandro scored with one second remaining in regulation to tie the contest at 2-2. Both teams could not score in overtime leaving both teams with a tie.

In game two, D'Alessandro led the Lions with two more goals, but Kentucky edged the Ice Lions 5-4 in overtime. Goaltender Brian Gratz started both games for Penn State. The Ice Lions fall to an overall record of 8-10-1 with a tenth place ranking in the ACHA Northeast Conference. The Ice Lions will travel north this weekend to challenge No. 8 Central Connecticut State University and No. 3 S.U.N.Y.-Stony Brook.
