Sleep troubles trigger larger daytime problems

Question: I know I don't get enough sleep. Besides making me sluggish, are there other effects of not getting sufficient sleep?

Answer: Yes, there can be other, more serious problems associated with not getting enough sleep.

These include: fatigue, increased stress and irritability, increased risk of depression, and increased number of accidents.

There is no absolute daily requirement for sleep and it varies with individuals; for a typical college student, aged 18 to 25, the usual range would be from six to ten hours each night.

Question: It is wintertime now and it seems like I always catch a million colds. I go to the store and try to pick out something to help me get over it, but all the medicines have a lot of symptoms to cure. Which ones are best?

Answer: The best medecine for you depends on your cold symptoms.

There are five basic types of over-the-counter medicines that can be used to treat cold symptoms:

Nasal decongestant

Cough suppressant

Expectorant
