Mumia Abu-Jamal trial should disregard race

It seems that Jeff Martin is the person who is misinformed about the facts in the Mumia Abu-Jamal case.

In his letter, Martin claims that "there is little evidence to suggest" that Mumia committed the crime he was accused of.

However, according to his own testimony, Mumia saw his brother fighting with a police officer and ran towards the scene.

According to CNN, "Police found Abu-Jamal wounded by a round from Faulkner's gun. Faulkner, shot several times, was dead. A .38-caliber revolver registered to Abu-Jamal was found at the scene with five spent shell casings."

Mumia Abu-Jamal is clearly guilty of killing police officer Daniel Faulker on Dec. 9, 1981. It seems to me most activists are using him as way to argue against the death penalty and are also using the opportunity to play the race card.

Martin reveals this intent when argues that of the 126 people Philadelphia had on death row, only 14 were white. What does this have to do with the case? Is Jeff Martin really suggesting that a phantom third party killed the officer? Abu-Jamal murdered a police officer and was therefore sentenced harshly, it should have nothing to do with race.
