Women's soccer honors team stars at banquet

The Penn State women's soccer team voted sophomore Joanna Lohman as its Most Valuable Player during its annual team banquet yesterday.

Lohman, who was second on the team and in the Big Ten in assists, was named a first-team NSCAA All-American.

Fellow sophomore Heidi Drummond earned Outstanding Offensive Player honors, while senior Bonnie Young was named the Outstanding Defensive Player for the second straight year.

Freshman midfielder Lindsay Bach was the team's Most Improved Player while junior goalkeeper Alison Weimer won the team's Unsung Hero award.

Penn State also recognized its four seniors for their accomplishments over the four seasons. Young, Emily Oleksiuk, Megan Mills and Colleen Kaufold compiled 85 wins and won four consecutive Big Ten regular season titles and three conference tournament crowns.
