Local modern dance group, VanDance, utilizes Poe's tales as muses, subjects

VanDance, a central Pennsylvania modern dance group, performs The Raven ... and Other Mysterious Tales at 8 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday at the State College VFW Hall, 139 N. Barnard St.

Inspired by the haunting tales of Edgar Allen Poe, the performance features two new works, "Annabel Lee" and "Morella," as well as "The Bells," "The Raven," and "The Fall of the House of Usher."

Joining VanDance in the performance are several members of the Ballet Theater of Central Pennsylvania and three guest artists - Cinnamon Barefoot, Heather Brady, and Dan Stark - who have previously worked with VanDance's founder, Ann Van Kuren.

Tickets for the performance are $12 general admission and $8 students. For tickets or information, call 238-5918 or vandance@psu.edu.
