[Wednesday,
Jan. 9, 2002 ] Today's
University Park forecast
A warm
front associated with a low pressure system will traverse
Pennsylvania today, creating the potential for slick
roadways and sidewalks due to freezing rain which will
turn to showers as the mercury climbs. The remainder of
the week looks unsettled as the chance of precipitation
looms for Friday and the beginning of the first weekend
of the semester. Expect temperatures to hover above
seasonal levels.

Highlight
While Happy Valley saw a whopping 13 of snow
from the weekends snowstorm, residents of the
Poconos had a lot more shoveling to do. Specifically,
Browndale and Forest City in Susquehanna County recorded
24 and 22 respectively. The snow was likely a
welcome site to ski resorts in northeastern Pennsylvania,
as this storm was the first significant snowfall of the
season.
