Bike riders shouldn't be subject to fines

Bike riding is not the same as driving a car. I didn't take my driving test on a bike.

If you agree with this, then why are the same fines imposed for each? I recently received a $64 ticket for a bike violation. Sixty-four dollars -- my bike isn't even worth that.

It's a shame that the police officers in this town have nothing better to do than fine students for stupid offenses.

Give us a break, we're only poor college students.
