Hearing today for man accused of murder

The 37-year-old State College man accused of killing his 33-year-old wife is scheduled to have his preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. today in the Centre County Courthouse, Bellefonte.

Vincent C. McGee is charged with one count of murder in the first degree, one count of murder in the third degree, one count of voluntary manslaughter and one count of involuntary manslaughter. Police found Amy D. McGee, Vincent McGee's wife, dead of a bullet wound to the head in the couple's Waring Street home last Thursday night.

Vincent McGee told police the shooting was accidental and occurred after he moved his handgun from the left to right side of his waistband, police said.

He has been held in Centre County Prison without bail since his arraignment last week.
