Positive news stories shouldn't be overlooked

I am appalled to see the news about the $814 million Navy contract obtained by Penn State's own Applied Research Laboratory only earned a place in the "News in Brief" section of the Collegian. This story got less press than the "Local Man Attempts Sex With Horse" article found in the October 23 issue. This enormous contract is a major development for the university and should be a headline story; it does not deserve to be brushed aside.

Also, why did it take you nearly a week to run the story? Penn State is one of the finest research institutions in the country, and ARL is one of the U.S. Navy's top civilian research facilities. I hope positive press coverage will soon return to this paper.
