Circle K, a Penn State service organization, is launching a massive, 24-hour marathon today to promote support for community service. Beginning at 5 p.m., the event will function as a "mini-Thon" according to Circle K President Chris Rosenbaum.
The timing of the marathon corresponds with International Service Week, which takes place this week. Most of the events are tomorrow, International Service Day.
"It's a great way to get word out about community service," Rosenbaum said, inviting "anyone and everyone's help."
The marathon, featuring 11 different projects, is expected to draw between 60 and 100 students from across Pennsylvania, he added.
