Although it didn't win any seats, the Student Party has been successful in other ways, mayoral candidate Justin Leto said.

About 28 percent of registered voters in Centre County turned out for yesterday's municipal election, with 24,942 out of 88,804 registered voters appearing at the polls.

A 23-year-old Penn State alumna died Monday night at Geisinger Health Center in Danville from what the State College Police Department believes to be an overdose of the illegal drug MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy.

The Undergraduate Student Government Senate effectively lifted its censor of USG President Justin Zartman last night.

In an effort to reduce the risk of someone poisoning the food supply, farmers and food production workers are implementing inspection measures that involve checking food in various stages of processing.

Nearly two months after the day, a student design group is inviting the public to help them assemble the memorial sculpture they conceived.

There's an obvious byproduct when a senior class with three of a school's top 20 all-time leading scorers leads that team to its first Sweet 16 in 47 years. Big shoes to fill.

The Indiana men's soccer team may have run away with the Big Ten regular season championship, but that will mean nothing when the Big Ten tournament starts tomorrow at the University of Wisconsin.


At the end of NCAA Championships last year, anyone who followed Penn State wrestling would have expected the lineup to remain intact for this season with a very young squad.

The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams officially started their 2001-2002 seasons this past weekend, traveling to Philadelphia to compete in the 2nd annual Temple Open.

Zack Mills has gone from unknown backup on an 0-4 squad to the hottest player on a team that has won three straight and has Nittany Lion fans in an uproar.


The Fighting Illini have only one loss on the season, a 45-20 drubbing by Michigan, and beat Purdue handily last Saturday.

Bend but don't break — that's been the credo of Penn State defenses for years. The Nittany Lions would surrender opponents plenty of yards — until they reached the red zone.
