A firearm was discharged early Saturday morning near the HUB-Robeson Center.
Penn State Police Services are continuing to investigate the firing and are releasing little information at this time. The incident occurred at about 2 a.m., according to a Penn State police press release. A small amount of blood was found after examining the scene, but police had not determined yesterday whether the blood is related to the fired gun. Police also retrieved a firearm in the area around the HUB-Robeson Center, the press release said.
Police are also investigating a fight involving several people in the HUB-Robeson Center around the time the gun went off. Two police cars and about 10 police officers investigated the HUB-Robeson Center parking deck and further south on the west side of Shortlidge Road Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to contact Penn State police at 863-1111.
