Glee Club to present Homecoming show

At 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in Schwab Auditorium, the Penn State Glee Club will present its Annual Homecoming Concert. In addition to the Glee Club, the concert will feature the Hi-Los and the Varsity Quartet.

The Glee Club will perform African-American spirituals and songs of remembrance to honor victims of the Sept. 11 tragedy.

They will also premier new arrangements of Scottish and Irish folksongs. These arrangements are by director Bruce Trinkley, a professor of music.

Guest soloists at the concert will be Richard Kennedy and Norman Spivey, who are both associate professors of music.

This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the Penn State Alma Mater. All six of the original verses will be performed for the first time in almost a century. Graham Spanier will be the guest conductor of the Alma Mater as well as "God Bless America."

Tickets for tomorrow night's concert are available at the ticket centers at the HUB-Robeson Center and Eisenhower Auditorium. Prices are $2 for students and $6 for the general public.
