The fire that left 18 Penn State graduate students homeless Sunday night was determined to be started by a six-year-old playing with matches, said Penn State spokesman Tysen Kendig.

The damage of the fire was estimated to be in excess of $100,000, Kendig said.

No one was injured in the fire that charred the building housing eight apartments and all residents were relocated to other campus housing, Kendig said.
