I am writing to show my support for Penn State's recent adoption of the use of wind power to supplement 5 percent of its energy use. I just learned from my Environmental Science Class (BiSci 003) that Penn State is the second-highest contributor of pollutants to Centre County, www.scorecard.org, and the fact that Penn State is taking steps to become more environmentally conscience is tremendous.

The world that we live in is quickly becoming worn out by human activity, so any measure that takes this into account is good. Much of the waste that comes from this campus can be prevented and I encourage my fellow students to follow this example and take simple steps like turning off appliances, recycling newspapers and refraining from littering as well.
