This year's homecoming king and queen will be crowned at 6 p.m. today on the steps of Old Main.

The eight nominees for the court were chosen based on an application and interview process. Penn State students had the opportunity to vote for the court on Monday and yesterday online and at designated voting booths on campus and downtown.

The actual ceremony should last about 30 minutes, said Jamie Schneider, homecoming public relations chair.

Following the coronation, the Airbands spirit competition returns after being absent from homecoming events last year. Participating organizations compete against each other by lip synching and dancing to songs of their choice.
