Letter to the Editor
PSU football season difficult for fans to see

Painful. Unfortunately, this may be the only word that describes how it feels to watch Penn State football this season. I sat in the beautifully renovated Beaver Stadium for the kickoff of the Miami game, hoping to relive some of that old Penn State glory.

But there would be no elation like that felt at the last minute comeback two years ago in Miami. There would be hardly any high points for weeks to come. But, with the first Bowl Coalition Series ranking coming out this week, there is the thinnest sliver of a silver lining in all the dark clouds hovering over Beaver Stadium this year. Miami's weak schedule is the biggest factor keeping it from making one of the top two spots in the BCS and a chance to play for a national championship.

Though Penn State could not beat Miami on the field, their dismal season may ultimately prevent Miami from being national champs. I really hope this is not the biggest victory Penn State has this season.
