A female student was sexually assaulted early Sunday morning in Atherton Hall, Penn State Police Services said.

The attack occurred between 2 and 8:30 a.m. and police are still investigating, although a suspect has been identified, police said.

The woman was being treated at Centre Community Hospital when the Centre County Communications Center put a call into police.

Police would not release details of the alleged assault yesterday.
