I was appalled when I found that NBC has decided to delay its season premiere of West Wing by one week and will show a parallel episode of recent events in its place. I find this to shocking for a couple of reasons.

First, I think it is sick that a network would want to make money off of events that have taken and touched so many lives and caused so much pain. This to me is such an abhorrent action that I have a hard time describing it, and it seems to me to be further evidence why these terrorists hate us so much. Some of us like to make money and exploit each other.

Second, I find it inappropriate in its timing and venue. We are trying to heal and move on with our lives. How are we supposed to do that with NBC dragging us back again to the beginning of it all? This isn't a venue of catharsis as NBC might be thinking. It's only the beginning of the motion of events, and until we see this through, we aren't ready to explore such feelings all over again. So I ask my fellow American to boycott West Wing for this episode.
