Horrific and shocking news hit us yesterday. I woke up with the news of the destruction of the world trade center, gathered myself and headed to class.
It seems as if people stop and begin to realize that the simple things in life are those that are truly important. I came to class expecting my professor to show remorse about the events of the day, but when a woman came into our class announcing the attack on the Pentagon, I was shocked to see a lack of compassion from my professor, who rudely asked the woman to leave immediately, not wanting to discuss the tragedy and preferring to continue with his lecture.
I wish my professor would have put his lecture in perspective to what is happening to our country. Our professors are supposed to be intelligent people; however, their priorities are incorrect.
