State College community holds prayer vigils

On the day known as International Peace Day, terrorist attacks have crippled the nation and stunned the student body. The following prayer services have been announced for Tuesday night and are being held by various campus groups:

Until 9 p.m. — The Simmons Piano Lounge will have tea and a university staff member until 9 p.m. or later. Anyone with concerns may talk to Schreyers Honors College staff members.

4 p.m. — Eisenhower chapel

6 p.m. — All faith prayer on the HUB lawn

6:30 p.m. — Alumni hall at the HUB-Robeson Center.

7 p.m. — St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 109 McAllister St.

7 p.m. — State College Assembly of God.

10 p.m. — Third floor of the HUB-Robeson Center.

Midnight — Old main lawn.

Student services at 814-863-3786 is available for students to help notify faculty and staff if they miss class due to personal or family emergency.
