It baffles me to see that Penn State's very own newspaper must resort to placing a picture in the Friday, August 31st issue of another university's marching band member snoozing in his sousa when here at Penn State, our very own Blue Band has been out rehearsing, sometimes nine hours a day, for the upcoming home opener.
I feel that given the amount of time, commitment, and pride that all of the Blue Band members give, they deserve some recognition in their own newspaper, rather than seeing one of Penn State's Big Ten rivals represented.
As president of the Blue Band, it bothers me and other members of the Blue Band to see you straying from the pride right here in Happy Valley. Just because the football team may not have a good season does not mean that the Blue Band won't as well.
We are looking to have one of our best and most successful seasons ever!
