Beaver Stadium felt the Hurricanes a blowin'.

Adam Taliaferro made his most important run out of the Beaver Stadium tunnel Saturday night before the Penn State-Miami football game.

As director of multicultural affairs for the college since 1994, Selden has made many such connections with both students and faculty. He recently was promoted to assistant dean for multicultural affairs.

At least one Miami fan received a warm welcome to Happy Valley last Friday.



Katie Kloecker is trying to solve the brutal killing of a family on national television. The former Penn State student is lucky to still be alive — six of the other investigators have already been murdered.

Increased police presence in State College, specifically in the East Beaver Avenue area commonly known as "Beaver Canyon," kept this weekend safe and unfettered by riotious activity, the State College Police Department said.

The second change is an additional 6:20 p.m. trip from downtown State College and campus to Overlook Heights/Park Hills/Park Forest. The trip will begin at the Schlow Library.

SPORTS

It was a tale of two halves for the Penn State men's soccer team this weekend as the Lions split their opening set of games.

On a campus reeling from a dismal performance by its football heroes, there was a bright spot this weekend. The No. 3 Lions swept their three opponents and seemed to make a successful adjustment to the newly implemented rally scoring.

Goals continued to remain at a premium for the Penn State field hockey team this weekend, as it was shut out 1-0 in overtime yesterday at No. 7 Old Dominion and dropped a 3-1 decision Saturday at No. 1 North Carolina.

The Penn State women's soccer team likes to downplay rankings, but they seemed to be a pretty good indicator of where their opponents stood at this weekend's Notre Dame Classic.

Saturday was Clinton Portis' birthday. The Miami running back's present was a massive offensive line that bowled over Penn State and opened gaping holes that he could run through.
