Letter to the Editor
Rape an issue of force, can happen anywhere

I hope to finally put all of the anti-Hooters letters to rest by saying for the last time, none of the girls are forced to work there.

The fact that people complain about the waitress' skimpy outfits is ridiculous.

Have these people ever checked out the line to get into Players? Or seen some of the clothes sold at Metro? They make the Hooters uniform look conservative. Hooters girls are not forced to do anything they do not want to do.

Unfortunately, this isn't always the case.

While the girls in Mifflin Hall weren't technically forced to do something they didn't want to do, something that they didn't want was most definitely forced upon then.

Timothy Kulp felt that his only solution was to take his own life. So sadly, we know where his story ends.

Yet, what about the alleged rapists at Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity? The victim was forced to do something she did not want to do. Twice.

Other than the occasional paragraph in the Collegian's "News in Brief" section, the majority of students have no idea what is happening to these two boys (I can't bring myself to call someone that forces sex a man).

Are they still members of SAE? Does one sit behind me in class? Or have they gone home to hide?

If they pay enough money and are eventually re-admitted back to PSU I think students have a right to know that there are rapists among us, and what they look like.

Maybe wearing a cap with "rapist" on it would help, or posting their pictures in every classroom and bar. Some would consider this extreme. Yet, to actually have it in you to rape someone deserves the most extreme punishment possible.
