Two white horses spray painted as American flags hardly stood out amid all of the red, white and blue banners, clothes and painted faces on campus and downtown during the American Pride Parade yesterday.

Penn State and the State College community came together yesterday to appreciate their nation and the liberty on which it was founded at the Town and gown-sponsored Pride Rally on Old Main lawn.

A kitchen fire at Grillers restaurant, 256 E. Beaver Ave., closed the restaurant and caused the evacuation of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, 255 Highland Ave., Friday morning.

During the first year of Penn State's new academic integrity policy, three students had their transcripts marked with an XF grade.

While many clubs cater to a variety of interests, the Penn State Irish Organization provides students with information about Irish culture, history, politics and entertainment that is hard to find on the average college campus.

A specter of the weakening economy visited the Penn State trustees' meeting Friday, as they approved a less-ambitious state funding request and faced up to an endowment that shrank slightly during the last fiscal year.

In a sense, Penn State was lucky to come out of Saturday's game with Wisconsin with an 18-6 loss.
