The Bellefonte Historical & Cultural Association's (BHCA) annual Film Forum is featuring a repertoire of films relevant to Centre County at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Adam and Art Gallery, 126 S. Allegheny St., Bellefonte, according to a BHCA press release.
The Forum will begin with Saving Pennsylvania, a film by Dick Eitzen and Thomas Hylton. Pulitzer Prize winner Hylton bases the film off his book, Save Our Land, Save Our Cities. According to the release, the film details how Pennsylvanians have abandoned their countryside, destroying their sense of community during the past 50 years.
Sue Hannegan, associate for Planning and Preservation with the Bellefonte Borough Office of Community Affairs, will speak after the film.
The second film, Store Wars: When Wal-Mart Comes to Town, will follow. This film, by Micha Peled, explores the struggle of a small Virginia town trying to preserve their way of life, according to the release.
