Taliaferro to be guest on '15 Minutes' show

Adam Taliaferro, the Penn State football player who suffered a serious spinal injury on Sep. 23, will be the special guest on today's episode of 15 Minutes on WPSX-TV.

The show airs at 6:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on WPSX, Penn State's public broadcasting station located on channel three in the Centre County region. Nittany Lions football and men's basketball radio play-by-play announcer Steve Jones hosts the program.

Taliaferro returned to the Penn State campus in May to resume classes. He took one class in the first summer session and two more in the current summer session.

As a freshman cornerback, Taliaferro attempted to make a tackle on Ohio State running back Jerry Westbrooks in the waning moments of Penn State's loss to the Buckeyes.

He was transported to Ohio State Medical Center where he underwent successful spinal fusion surgery.

On Sep. 27, he was transferred to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and admitted to Magee Rehabilitation Hospital on Oct. 6.

Despite initial diagnosis that stated Taliaferro would never walk again, he ended his outpatient rehab at Magee on March 30 and continues his rehab on his own, working out twice a day in the Lasch Building.
