After two riots in the past three years, the State College Police, landlords and community members are trying to prevent another riot from marring this year's Arts Festival.

The two people who were caught by surveillance cameras breaking into Old Main have turned themselves in to Penn State Police services.

Who would have thought that one little piggy could cause such a commotion?

Local members of the Libertarian Party will sponsor the fourth annual 30-Hour Marijuana Smoke Out, which in past years has spurred mixed crowd emotions and little police response.


The International Olympic Committee is in its fourth day of deliberations to decide which city — Istanbul, Turkey, Osaka, Japan, Paris, Toronto or Beijing — will host the 2008 Summer Games.

The Children and Youth Day Sidewalk Sale, the biggest event of the first day of the 35th annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, offered children from local high schools the opportunity to leave their ordinary lives for a day to do something extraordinary.

Amidst a field of green, perched in front of the legendary Old Main, a crowd of more than 50 gathered yesterday in front of the Festival Shell Stage.
