A Philipsburg man was arrested Sunday night on charges of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person, the Pennslyvania State Police at Philipsburg said.
William Wayne Knepp, 50, of Philipsburg alledgedly fired one shot with a Colt .38 Special revolver at John Lester Ferguson, 51, of Philipsburg and his son, John Joseph Ferguson, 31, of State College, state police said.
State police said the Fergusons were fishing at Shields Dam along Six Mile Run in Centre County, when Knepp, along with his wife and dog, arrived.
The Knepp's dog began to swim in the hole while the couple threw sticks in the water. After the Knepps continually threw sticks, John Ferguson threw a rock in the vicinity of the swimming dog, then Knepp allegedly drew his revolver.
Knepp, who was apprehended, was arraigned before Judge Carmine Prestia in State College and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing is set for tomorrow. Knepp's wife will also face summary charges, state police said.
