HARRISBURG — Once again this summer, the state is looking for a few conscientious party busters. So far, there has not been an overwhelming number of volunteers, either around University Park or elsewhere in Pennsylvania.

Mark and Wynnmai Fitzgerald have fired up their massive kiln, finishing off the final pieces of stoneware. For the husband and wife team of potters, the past few weeks have been busy — making cups, bowls and plates in their York County studio.


When the 35th annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts takes over State College this week, artists, vendors and visitors from across the country will flock downtown. With the influx of guests, many businesses look forward to an anticipated increase in sales. However, some find Arts Festival is not always a guaranteed economy-booster.
