Alumni, not just students, 'destroy' State College too
The message conveyed by the alumni in a recent article about the riots was "Don't destroy our town." I find this statement quite humorous, considering the site I witnessed this past weekend. After the Blue-White game, in which many alumni attended like it was a Saturday in October, I drove by the fields outside of Beaver Stadium. It didn't appear to me that these particular alumni were too worried about keeping our town clean. There were beer cans, paper plates and other trash strewn about with total disregard to the trashcans placed throughout the fields. I have no excuses for the riots and feel that they did bring a bad name to Penn State; however, I don't believe this matter should concern those alumni who return to State College five times a year to cheer on the football team and leave the town trashed.
