Police Log

  • Aggravated Assault: A Penn State student sustained a three-inch gash on his head after being hit with a beer bottle Thursday night on the second floor of an apartment in the 300 block of East Beaver Avenue, the State College Police Department said. The man was taken to Centre Community Hospital for several stitches and was treated for swelling near his left eye. The assailant is still unknown, State College police said.

  • Burglary: A State College resident reported the theft of two laptop computers early yesterday morning from an apartment on the 500 block of East Beaver Avenue, State College police said. The value of the laptops is about $2,500.

  • Fraud: A Penn State student reported Friday morning the theft of a credit card, Penn State Police Services said. Police said the card was used at various locations in State College and had more than $449 of unauthorized charges on it.

  • Theft: A Penn State student reported her backpack stolen early Friday morning from the 300 block of Pugh Street, State College police said. The backpack contained a $150 calculator and between 30 and 50 CDs valued between $250 and $350, police said.

  • Theft: A State College man reported the theft of a stereo from his car early yesterday morning, State College police said. The car was parked near the 400 block of Waupelani Drive. Police do not have an estimated value for the stolen stereo.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
