Letter to the Editor
Employers should be fair, not make generalizations
After reading the Collegian article about William Asbury's e-mail, I returned to my room to read it for myself. Because Mr. Asbury felt the need to send this to every student, despite the fact that most had nothing to do with the incident, I thought it must contain words of wisdom relevant to us all. Then, can someone please explain why after months of university efforts to unify students against prejudice, he warns of companies that because of the riots "question whether or not they want to recruit Penn State students"? Why would he expect us to want to work for companies that make the very stereotypes we've struggled to overcome?
