Who the riots hurt. Part V: The students

The riots have created what some see as a disheartening trend that has disrupted the lives of students, both those directly involved and those who never set foot on East Beaver Avenue during the riots.

Residents of University Terrace, 825 Bellaire Ave., received a flier Tuesday offering a $1,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest of people vandalizing the apartment complex.

Although taxpayers will get an extra day to file their taxes this year because April 15 falls on a Sunday, many at Penn State are still feeling the crunch of the season.

The third annual "Taste of India" food festival will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday in HUB Alumni Hall. For $4, students and visitors can enjoy authentic Indian cuisine prepared by members of the local Indian community.


Penn State's Coaches vs. Cancer Student Committee became the highest fund-raising philanthropy in the country, raising over $25,000 throughout the past year.


SPORTS

The first of two crucial conference series begins this weekend, when the Penn State baseball team heads to West Lafayette, Ind. to knock heads with Big Ten front-runner Purdue.

The No. 13 Penn State women's lacrosse team has fallen into a routine.

The No. 12 Penn State men's volleyball team is in the stretch run of their season.

Anglers in the Centre County area may have high hopes of landing a trophy trout tomorrow morning.

When the No. 17 Penn State men's lacrosse team takes on No. 13 Navy at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Jeffrey Field, the Nittany Lions may get the feeling that they're actually playing an intra-squad scrimmage.

The Nittany Lions will travel to the state of Indiana to play four games this weekend.

If the Penn State men's tennis team didn't have bad luck, they would have no luck at all.

Penn State women's tennis will find itself in unfamiliar territory this weekend when they face Purdue and Indiana at the Sarni Tennis Center.

It's the Lady Ruggers' last home game of the season and for the seniors, this game against Millersville will mean a lot.

The Penn State men's track and field team will attempt to duplicate their performances of the past two weekends.

Last week I had my tarot cards read by an Egyptian Pantheist.

A unique beginning, a cast full of quirky characters and romantic comedy make up Somewhere in Between.

The women of the State College Branch of AAUW will hold their 40th Annual Used Book Sale at the Agricultural Arena.

Phantom will be making its debut at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday to an almost sold out crowd.

The quadruple bill will also feature Glassjaw, The Movielife and Cooter.

On May 19, the pottery will be auctioned during the museum's annual Gala dinner at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.

Several photographs about Penn State women are on display in Pattee Library's lobby through April 27.

The third book in a series of crossword mystery novels by Steve Zettler and Cordelia Biddle will be released in July.

An overview of Penn State life is now available online for the world to see.

At 2 p.m. tomorrow Jeff Frazier will shed some light on the "good old days" and what it was like to live without modern luxuries like the automobile and central heating.
