BELLEFONTE — The man accused of killing a 29-year-old woman and her unborn child will not be charged for the death of the unborn baby, a local judge ruled yesterday.

The crowd of about 50 people sat hushed. Most of them were female, a few were young and a few were old.


Michael Auker is in a coma. Exactly one month ago, Auker was beaten and left for dead at his trailer in Middleburg. Police said they found him bleeding and unconscious with every facial bone broken.

Social activists from across the country will begin gathering today on campus for the second annual Solidarity Conference.

At noon tomorrow in the Zoller Gallery, the Penn State community can interact with exhibits and speakers at the Green Design Conference.

Students of the Schreyer Honors College have been taking advantage of a program that other students hope will soon be available to everyone.

Spring Weekend, sponsored by the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council, began Wednesday night.

About 2,000 walkers, ranging from elementary students to retired residents, will team up Sunday for the fourth annual 5K Red Ribbon AIDS Walk to raise money for The AIDS Project.

After a scuffle with police, State College residents Michael Shelley and Eric Garton were arrested Wednesday night on charges of disorderly conduct, State College police said.

The Undergraduate Student Government is now accepting applications for next year's executive department positions.

For Penn State men's outdoor track and field coach Harry Groves, this weekend will be somewhat of a homecoming.

In addition to playing songs on the radio, next week WKPS-FM (90.7) will be bringing music to students in a more intimate way. Starting Monday, the station will run a contest to award listeners tickets to the April 15 Godsmack and Staind concert at the Bryce Jordan Center.
