Police Log

  • Criminal Mischief: A State College resident reported to the State College Police Department that someone smashed the windshield of her white Ford Taurus with a concrete block sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday while it was parked on the 100 block of West Hamilton Avenue. The windshield is valued at between $200 and $300.

  • Criminal Mischief: At 1:17 a.m. Friday, a staff member reported that an emergency shower had been activated by an unknown person on the second floor of Borland Lab, Penn State Police Services said. Water damaged two floors of the building. The damage estimate is unavailable at this time.

  • Disorderly Conduct: Two men were cited early Sunday morning for instigating what State College police called "pre-riot conditions."

An 18- year-old Penn State student and a 19-year-old visitor from Ohio are accused of inciting a repeat of last weekend by jumping onto a soda machine in "Beaver Canyon" and yelling at the people in the balconies of Penn Tower, 255 E. Beaver Ave., inciting them to yell back.

The Penn State student was cited for underage drinking and disorderly conduct, while the visitor was cited for underage drinking. State College police said the men were also found with two stolen exit signs.

In case of an emergency, on or off campus, dial 911. For business and nonemergency calls, call the State College Police Department at 234-7150 and Penn State Police Services at 863-1111.

State College police are located at 243 S. Allen St. in the Municipal Building.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
