A Penn State student and member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority was found unconscious in an alley Saturday night. The 21-year-old Penn State student suspected of leaving her will face charges sometime this week, the State College Police Department said.
Police found the 20-year-old woman. She was unconscious and unresponsive, wearing a black semiformal gown and sandals after attending the sorority's formal in the Atherton Hotel, 125 S. Atherton St. Police called Alpha Community Ambulance Service and took the woman to Centre Community Hospital where she was found to be intoxicated and suffering from hypothermia. She was released from the hospital yesterday morning.
Police received a phone call at 8:50 p.m. from an apartment in The Lion, 119 S. Burrowes St., which informed police of the woman and a man stumbling around in the parking lot. Witnesses told police the man was in the area when police arrived, but left before officers could reach him, police said. Cpl. Mark Argiro said the man suspected of leaving the woman will be charged sometime this week with furnishing alcohol to minors and might receive a reckless endangerment charge. The woman will be charged for underage drinking and public drunkenness, Argiro said.
