[Friday,
March 30, 2001 ] Today's
University Park forecast

Although the rain will
come to an end early today, the weather in Happy Valley
will remain rather gloomy the next several days. Another
low pressure system will bring the chance for more steady
rain into the region by the beginning of next week and
temperatures will remain slightly below normal. Some
sunshine may poke through the clouds by Tuesday.

Highlight
While the rain may dampen outdoor
activities, it is a welcome sight to our Florida
neighbors. The severe drought in Florida had prompted
state officials to expand its water-use restricitions to
include businesses. However, the heavy rains that
occurred there yesterday brought enough relief that that
step may not be necessary. While the rain is welcome
sight, much more is needed to bring the state out of its
drought.
