The John Pizzarelli Trio, The Big Band Swing Orchestra and The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra will all be serenading Penn State this month.
Singer Maureen McGovern and guitarist/singer John Pizzarelli will be the featured musicians in a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in Eisenhower Auditorium. They will be performing with The John Pizzarelli Trio and The Big Band Swing Orchestra.
McGovern has appeared on Broadway and has won Oscars for two of her recordings that were highlighted in two feature films. In addition, she has been nominated for a Grammy for her album The Pleasure of His Company.
Later this month, The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra will be paying a tribute to some of the greatest jazz composers of the century through their show "100 Years of Jazz." They will be performing at 8 p.m. on April 20.
Tickets for The John Pizzarelli Trio and The Big Band Orchestra concert are $28 for general audience, $23 for non-PSU students, $14 for children age 12 and younger and $13 for PSU students.
